Looking Ahead

What fascinates me in Aleksandra Davidenko’s paintings is the sense of sincerity. Somehow she manages to express the world seen by the eyes of her inner child in such an unexpectedly genuine manner that her drawing leaves you speechless for a few moments. As it talks right to your heart your brain seems to be left to wonder for awhile in front of her paintings. But quite fast all comes to order, and intelligence is ready to say its verdict about artist’s technique, composition, colors, and all other things people like to discuss looking at the art piece. And we all are so into that, we like smart talking as it makes us feel good and somehow quite important, even superior… But somewhere deep, deep down every one of us is a little kid, living on his or her own planet, barely any bigger than one self. Every one of us is lifetime crowned and cursed of being both, its ruler and its prisoner.
Remember, in his novella "The Little Prince", Antoine de Saint-Exupery wrote, “if you were to say to the grown-ups: "I saw a beautiful house made of rosy brick, with geraniums in the windows and doves on the roof," they would not be able to get any idea of that house at all. You would have to say to them: "I saw a house that cost $20,000." Then they would exclaim: "Oh, what a pretty house that is!" …” And what if you claim that you have wings and can fly to any star you want? Or see the fish that stream the Milky Way? That you can climb the ladder and reach for the keys from all the secret doors in the world? Or that behind your window there is a whole bubble bath of planets waiting for you? What would grown-ups say on this? But you know you are telling the truth! There are fish, and keys, and wings, and starry flowers, and bubbling planets… and there are answers to all questions waiting for you… ahead. So please, please forgive others for being such busy with their adult things and such ignorant to the real world of wonders… yeah, “children should always show great forbearance toward grown-up people.” But YOU know… you look through your window, and see… there

great painting! reminds me of the Little Prince, too! and also of Elvis's...

    Earth boy dream of angel
Angel she be sweet and make him have happy heart
    In land of love
Angel dream of earth boy, earth boy who’ll be true
And love her till sun grow cold in land of love

:) wishing the best to the artist!
